For those thinking the New York Giants have lost interest in Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, think again.
NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that a contingency from the club will be in Boulder this week to hold a private workout with Sanders.
The Giants have met with Sanders multiple times this year and have done extensive work on him. Per comments made by general manager Joe Schoen, it looked as if the Giants were not leaning towards selecting a quarterback with the third overall pick.
ESPN’s Todd McShay said on Monday night that the decision to circle back to Sanders could be an organizational decision being driven by co-owner John Mara himself. Both Mara and Schoen said publicly that finding a franchise quarterback was the club’s top priority this offseason.
“Recorded this before the news of NYG brass flying to Boulder for one last look at Shedeur. It lines up precisely with the information I shared on today’s show re: the NYG still considering Shedeur at No. 3,” McShay said, via Athlon Sports. “It’s worth mentioning, sometimes ownership can get involved with decisions like these… just saying.”
Sanders is considered by many draft analysts to be the second-highest rated quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft behind Miami’s Cam Ward. With Ward expected to be selected first overall by Tennessee and Cleveland not likely to pass on both Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter and Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter, the Giants could simply grab Sanders at No. 3 and get on with their plans.
The Giants could also trade down a few spots, or trade back into the first round to select Sanders.
